Music of Spring

This lovely young lady is sitting in the fresh air of a lovely Spring day.  The songs of the birds, the purring of the cats, and the hope of Spring create a beautiful music floating in the air.  This is my entry for the today.  The challenge was to create a piece using the image of the woman sitting on the bench with her umbrella.  I will be using this image for something nice that will be in my shop soon.

And you have seen this piece before.  It is one of my favorites. And just fits right in with the for this week which is "My Heart Dances".  The original of this piece lives in my home.

Quite A Pear!

The images for this mixed media collage came from the Crowabout Challenge.  I couldn't resist doing something with this lion.  I've played with the placements of the images digitally.  Then I embellished it with paint, colored pencil, ink, and a couple of metal pretties.  The image is then adhered to a vintage book cover.   The finished piece measures 5.5" x 8.5"  and is titled Quite a Pear!

On another note, I found this quote the other day in my stash.  I have no idea to whom to attribute it.  But of course, I love it!   "Veterinary research has learned that a cat's brain structure is similar to a human's and that cats make decisions by processing data from the five senses."

Crowaboutit Challenge to Save My Sanity

I've been busy, busy, busy for weeks working on some commissioned work, creating new classes for my CraftEdu adventure, and dealing with a trainload of life that ran through our family.  Although I'm not quite finished with meeting deadlines head on, I discovered today that my sanity was greatly in jeopardy.  I knew what I had to do.  I simply must stop and do something utterly creative.  So I went to one of the most fun places I know, Collage Play with Crowabout.  This 5" x 7" piece is what I have created.  It is entitled "Tea Time, Ma'am".  It is a digitally created collage that has then been hand embellished.  I had fun creating it.  I hope you have fun looking at it.
